History

The history of RPX Group LLC goes back to 2002 when it began managing technology commercialization projects for the University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory. The initials RPX stand for the three pillars of our business model- Research, Planning, and eXecution.

While our business in Chicago and Illinois has grown, our clients have taken us beyond across the United States, including New York City and Denver. RPX Group partners have delivered invited lectures on early stage commercialization in such diverse locations as St. Petersburg, Russia, and Anchorage, Alaska and we have pursued opportunities from London to Los Angeles.

Our clients include a Global Top 20 private university, a U.S. Top 10 public university, two national laboratories, private equity firms, and Fortune 500 companies. These organizations have found that our depth of knowledge in all areas of new venture creation improves the likelihood of success.
